Windows to The Past, Gateway to The Future
Location: Broadway avenue, just east of downtown (click for a satellite view and map from Google)On the eastern edge of downtown Tucson, near the Rattlesnake Bridge, as Broadway crosses under the railroad tracks, is a series of tile murals with photographs of Tucson streets and pedestrians from the early-to-mid 20th century.
Though you can drive past them on Broadway, it’s worth parking nearby and taking to the sidewalk to face these larger-than-life Tucsonans from years past. If you can’t do that, here are photos of the 14 main panels. More information: www.tilography.com/gateway.htm |

can you please show the pictures of people that are along one wall of the bridge. One of those pictures are of a relative. We want to show them, they are very old now and can not make the trip to see themselves.
Thanks

Rich,
It’s been a couple of years since you left your comment. As I rode by the mural today on my bicycle, I remembered what you wrote. I made a new web page with photos of each of the 14 panels; you’ll find the link above. I hope that’s what you’re looking for! If you’d like a larger version of any photo, just let me know.
Jerry
